Nefi is a sweet and affectionate girl who thrives in calm, predictable environments where she can truly feel safe and secure. While she’s had a tough time adapting to busy or noisy settings, she’s incredibly loving with her people and adores nothing more than curling up beside you, leaning into your arms for fuss and attention. Once she forms a bond, she’s incredibly loyal and will happily paw at you for more cuddles when you stop!
Nefi is looking for a quiet, adult-only home (although homes with calm teenagers aged 14+ may be considered for short visits). She needs a low-stimulus environment – ideally away from busy roads or high foot traffic – and a secure garden where she can enjoy off-lead time and continue with her house training. She’s not suited to homes with frequent visitors or lots of comings and goings, as this can cause her stress. Nefi is making great progress with desensitisation work around doorways and sounds but will need ongoing support and a “safe space” in the home where she can retreat to when things feel overwhelming.
While she can be wary of strangers, particularly men, she builds trust with patience and gentle handling – especially if she’s allowed to approach in her own time. Her ideal family will be experienced and willing to follow structured guidance to help Nefi manage her reactivity, both at home and out on walks and must need quiet walking routes. Due to her reactivity and recall, she cannot be let off lead.
Nefi would prefer to be the only pet in the home. While she has previously lived with another dog, she struggled to share attention and space, and may become jealous or over-aroused. She may, in time, tolerate short visits from a calm, small male dog, but would be happiest as the centre of someone’s world.
Nefi is truly a diamond in the rough – a gentle, affectionate girl who just needs a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe and supported. With time, patience, and love, she’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty and affection.
