Archie

Archie is a young, lively Golden Retriever with a big heart and even bigger personality! He’s full of energy, loves to play, and isn’t afraid to tell you exactly how he’s feeling — often through his voice. Archie thrives on human company and can be a real cuddle bug once he settles. He’s affectionate, loves fuss and attention, and is learning to channel all that enthusiasm in the right ways. Due to his excitable nature and mouthing behaviours, we’re looking for an adults-only home who can continue his training calmly and consistently. He would benefit from a secure garden, as he’s still working on his housetraining and is currently unreliable with toileting on the lead. Archie can be a little unsettled when first left alone, so his new family will need to build up time being left gradually — he’s not destructive, but he may have a bit of a whine to start with. On walks, Archie is generally good on the lead but can pull at times, especially when he’s excited or spots wildlife. He can also be vocal towards other dogs, though with careful management and positive introductions, his socialisation has come on leaps and bounds. Archie enjoys walking alongside other dogs and could have dog friends out and about, though he’ll need to be the only pet in the home. He’s an intelligent, food-motivated boy who responds well to positive training and enjoys enrichment. With structure, patience and plenty of love, Archie has all the makings of a loyal, affectionate and fun companion.
