Adopting

Adopting your pet from Bath Cats and Dogs Home

Choosing to adopt is just the start of a wonderful journey, and we'd love to be a part of it with you.

Every cat and dog arriving at the rehoming centre receives care from our dedicated welfare teams, including any medical treatment they need. Once they are ready for a home, we bring together all that we have learnt about them to expertly match them to an owner who sill suit their character and needs.

Quick guide to adoption

•    Your adoption journey starts online by filling in the registration form.

•    Our Rehoming team will read carefully, and call you to discuss a good match.

•    You'll then be invited to meet your matches. You will have a chance to talk to our team, and you will have time to make a decision.

Registration to adopt

By registering to adopt, you promise that
•    You have permission to have a pet in your property
•    You have looked into the cost, time and effort of owning a pet and feel ready to take on the responsibility.
•    You are not planning any big changes in my home life in the next 3 months, including moving home, redecorating or home improvements, introducing a new person into the household, or going on holiday.
•    You could be ready to adopt within a week.

Find the registration form using the square below. The form will take about 10 minutes to complete.  After you complete the form, we’ll ask you to include a couple of photos of your home of the areas where your pet will be spending most of their time.

Technology not your thing? We can send paper forms out and chat further about getting home photos to us. Please send an email requesting a cat or dog application form to reception@bcdh.org.uk or call 01225 787321.
