Todd is a gentle, affectionate boy who has settled well in our care and enjoys a calm, relaxed environment. He has shown he can be clean in his kennel and, with a little support, should adapt well to home life. Todd would benefit from a home with a garden, as he finds toileting on the lead tricky, and his time alone will need to be built up gradually. He is quite content to relax and enjoys company, preferring this over toys or enrichment, and can be a little fussy with his food.
Todd absolutely loves people and thrives on affection and attention. He is comfortable with all types of handling, including being picked up, groomed, bathed, harnessed and seen by the vet. He greets people with great enthusiasm and happiness, and would benefit from some guidance to help him learn polite greetings. Out on walks, he enjoys meeting people and is very responsive, happily taking treats and engaging with his handler.
Todd walks nicely on the lead and, with some recall training, could potentially enjoy off-lead adventures in the future. He is looking for a home where he can be the only dog, as he feels most confident without canine pressure, though he may be able to build up to calm walking buddies over time. He prefers low-excitement play and may occasionally enjoy soft toys. Todd may be able to live with a confident cat, but this cannot be guaranteed, and he will need gentle management around human food as he can be a little cheeky when it’s involved.
