Ace

Ace is a handsome young Lurcher with a huge heart and an even bigger love of people. He is currently thriving in his foster home, where his affectionate nature and goofy, leggy charm shine through every day. Ace forms close bonds quickly, greeting new people with enthusiasm and warmth. Once he’s had his hello, he loves nothing more than leaning in for cuddles, often pawing gently for more fuss if you stop too soon. Soft toys are his absolute favourite—he’ll proudly shake them about and, given the chance, dismantle them with great enthusiasm. Ace came into our care with a leg injury, and although he has been making a very good recovery in his foster home, he will still require some ongoing support as he continues to heal. Anyone interested in adopting Ace is encouraged to contact our rehoming team for more information about his recovery and future needs. Ace needs a home where someone is around for most of the day, as he struggles with being left alone. In his foster home he initially cried when left in a room and followed his carers everywhere, but with time he has grown more confident and will now settle as long as he knows where his humans are. He has managed up to two hours alone with a long-lasting treat and is calm when his fosterers return, though any time left will need to be built up very gradually. He is generally housetrained and will stand by the door to ask out, though he still goes out overnight to prevent accidents. Ace currently sleeps downstairs, which took patience to establish, and he may need similar support in a new home. Out on walks, he can be reactive towards other dogs. His fosterers have been working hard on his engagement, and he is showing promising progress, but he will need adopters who are ready to continue this training with confidence and consistency. With time, training and plenty of companionship, Ace will make a wonderfully affectionate and loyal addition to the right home.
