Ned is a fun, affectionate lad who is full of personality and charm. He came to us as a stray and has settled well into kennel life. He can be a little vocal at first, but switches off well – especially if he’s got a toy nearby. Ned enjoys his walks, likes to sniff and explore, and walks nicely on lead in his harness. He’ll need a home with a secure garden where he can burn off some energy, and any time left alone should be introduced gradually to help him adjust smoothly to home life.
One of Ned’s absolute favourite things is digging in a sandpit – it’s his idea of heaven! He loves getting stuck in, having a good dig and entertaining himself, so a garden where he can enjoy this safely would be a big bonus for him and a great way to keep him happily occupied.
This big softie loves people and enjoys making new friends, though he can be a bit enthusiastic in his greetings. Because of this, Ned would suit a confident home with people who are comfortable around large, bouncy dogs. He’s very affectionate and loves a good cuddle, especially belly rubs, but can get over-excited if fuss goes on too long. The good news is that Ned is great at self-regulating – give him access to toys and he’ll happily grab one and settle himself down, which will be important in his new home.
Ned would need to be the only dog in the home as he can be a bit full-on with other dogs and is still learning his social skills. With the right guidance and ongoing training, he has lots of potential to improve and grow in confidence. He’s playful, silly and loving, happy to entertain himself or join in a game with you, and will thrive in a home that can offer structure, patience and plenty of enrichment. Ned is a wonderful character who will make a loyal and entertaining companion for the right home.
