Jamie

Meet Jamie, a sensitive and sweet young lurcher hoping to find a calm and understanding forever home. He can be a little unsure when first meeting new people, so he’ll feel most comfortable with a gentle, hands-off approach to introductions. Once he builds trust, Jamie’s affectionate side really shines, and he becomes a wonderfully cuddly and loving companion. He has a gentle nature that blossoms beautifully when he feels safe.
Out on walks, Jamie is generally calm and walks nicely, often checking in with his handler for a bit of reassurance. Jamie does have a strong interest in wildlife and may become animated when he spots it, so a home that feels confident supporting him through this will suit him best. He also enjoys saying hello to people and dogs from a distance but can sometimes feel conflicted or overwhelmed as they come closer, so quieter walking routes will help him gain confidence at his own pace. He tends to relax more when exploring open spaces.
Despite his sensitivities, Jamie has a wonderfully playful side. He loves soft squeaky toys and is perfectly happy entertaining himself or joining in gentle games with his handler. With time, patience and lots of positive experiences, Jamie will make a truly rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can understand his worries, support his progress, and appreciate the gentle, joyful dog he truly is.
