Jamie

Meet Jamie, a sensitive and sweet young lurcher looking for a calm and understanding forever home. Jamie can be a little worried when meeting new people, so he’ll thrive with a gentle, hands-off approach during first introductions. Once he forms a bond, however, he reveals his affectionate side and enjoys cuddles with those he knows well. He has a lovely nature that really shines through when he feels secure. Out on walks, Jamie is generally calm and walks nicely, regularly checking in with his handler for reassurance. He may pull when feeling worried or when startled by noises. He has a very high prey drive and may lunge or chatter his teeth when he spots wildlife, so an experienced home that can manage this safely is essential. Jamie is also keen to greet both people and dogs on walks but can become conflicted and worried as they approach, so quiet walking routes will help him build confidence at his own pace. He tends to relax more when in open spaces. Despite his sensitivities, Jamie has a wonderfully playful side. He enjoys soft squeaky toys and is just as happy playing by himself as he is engaging in games with his handler. With time, patience, and plenty of positive experiences, Jamie will make a loving and rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can understand his worries, support his progress, and appreciate the gentle, joyful dog he truly is.
