Dexter is a bright and busy young dog looking for a patient, understanding home where he can continue to learn and grow. He’s a sweet-natured lad who forms strong bonds with his people, but he’ll need adopters who are happy to take things at his pace and support him as he builds confidence. As a Spaniel/Patterdale Terrier cross, Dexter is full of energy, curiosity, and natural drive. He is very aware of his surroundings and can be sensitive to sounds and movement, which can make him seem over-excitable at times. However, he thrives when given a job to do and is already showing a real aptitude for scent work, which will be a great way to engage his mind and build focus.
Dexter is looking for an adult only home in a quiet area, away from busy roads, with a secure garden for training and toileting and would benefit from adopters who can access quiet walking areas and are committed to ongoing training and enrichment. Experience with similar breeds would be an advantage. Dexter is a project dog who will need time, patience, and consistency, but for the right home, he has all the makings of a fun, loyal, and engaging companion.
