How to make friends with a nervous cat
A guide to some socialisation and befriending a cat that is hiding and wary
Cats, Cat behaviour
Clover is a worried but quietly curious little kitten who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. She tends to observe from a distance, watching people carefully rather than approaching for fuss or interaction. While she hasn’t yet shown much confidence in seeking out attention, she will often sit and quietly study what’s going on around her. With time, patience, and a gentle approach, she is likely to grow in confidence.
Clover does show her playful side when she feels secure. She has been seen chasing small toys and enjoys playing alongside her sisters, often joining in when the kittens are running around together in their pod. Due to her small size and tendency to squeeze into tight hiding spaces, Clover will need to be started in a single, secure room where she can settle in safely at her own pace.
Clover is a cat flu carrier, so she will need a home without other pets. She could be adopted with one of her sisters (Daisy and Willow), which may help her feel more secure as she adjusts to her new environment.
