Tim is a young terrier cross who is looking for a patient and understanding new home where he can continue to grow in confidence. He’s a sensitive boy who will thrive with owners willing to put time and effort into helping him build his independence and work through separation training from the very beginning.
Tim would benefit most from a home where he isn’t expected to be left alone for long periods, either now or in the future. With the right support and consistent training, he has great potential to make progress at his own pace.
He has generally been friendly with everyone he’s met, though he can be a little wary or worried at first. Because of this, he currently needs some management around visitors, as he may hump when feeling over-aroused or anxious. Tim does best when new people allow him to approach in his own time, without being forced into interactions.
In indoor environments, Tim is an affectionate and loving companion once he knows you. He enjoys cuddling up beside you and will gently paw or nudge your hand if you stop fussing him before he’s ready. He’s happiest when close to his people and enjoying calm companionship.
Out on walks, Tim loves to sniff and take in the world through his nose. He would be most comfortable starting out in quieter walking areas, where he can explore without feeling overwhelmed.
