Sunny

Sunny is a handsome young Lurcher who is looking for a patient and understanding new home. Sunny enjoys routine and does best when he knows what to expect. He travels well in the car and settles nicely in the evenings, where he loves nothing more than relaxing on his bed by the TV. Like many young dogs, he can be cheeky and will counter surf or try to raid the kitchen bin if given the opportunity, so some management will be needed in these areas. House training is ongoing and Sunny will need access to a secure garden, as he does not reliably toilet on the lead yet. He is likely to experience some separation-related difficulties, so any time left alone will need to be built up gradually. With the right approach and consistency, he should continue to make good progress. Sunny can be shy when meeting new people in kennel environments, but he is much more confident with people when out on walks and in a home setting. He is affectionate on his own terms and can struggle with being fussed if he is feeling worried. When he is comfortable, he will happily nudge you for more attention if you stop before he is ready. On the lead, Sunny generally walks well but can pull strongly if he becomes spooked and is very strong for his size. He has a very high prey drive and becomes especially frantic around cats. His new owners will need to be prepared to manage his strength on lead. Sunny would thrive with adopters who are willing to give him the time, structure and reassurance he needs to feel safe and secure.
