Muriel is a shy, sensitive senior girl who’s looking for a very special home—one that understands the needs of a nervous cat and is willing to let her take life at her own pace.
She would thrive in a peaceful household with a spare room set up just for her, complete with plenty of cozy hiding spots, cat trees, and enrichment items like a scratch post, draped blankets, and hanging bamboo tunnel. It’s important she isn’t given access to more of the home until she’s confidently moving around her safe room with her new person present, as too much space too soon could set her back.
Muriel may never be a lap cat, but with time, patience, and understanding, she could grow into a more confident companion. If you have a quiet home and the heart to give an anxious older cat the chance she deserves, Muriel could be the one for you.

In the two months Muriel has been on foster with us she has gone from being very shut down to now enjoying fuss and attention. She absolutely loves head rubs and will push into my hand with the loudest, deepest purr. She’s still shy and unsure at times, but she’s learning to trust more each day and is slowly showing us her sweet, affectionate nature
