Gary

Gary is a very friendly, affectionate, and high-energy boy who loves interacting with people. He enjoys cuddles and will happily sit on your lap when he’s in a calm mood, but he can become easily overexcited and may nip or grab during play or fuss. Since starting behavioural medication he has become more relaxed, but he still needs clear boundaries, separate play and fuss sessions, and plenty of enrichment to help him manage his excitement. Gary is looking for an experienced home who are around most of the time, as he thrives on company and stimulation. He can live in either a busy or quiet home as long as there is predictability and space for him to decompress. Gary may be able to live with other cats or dogs, though any resident cat would need to be confident and high-energy, as his play style can be rough and will require careful management. He has been well-behaved at the vets, travels comfortably, and has shown no toileting issues. Because of his energy levels, Gary is not suitable as an indoor-only cat and will need outdoor access via a working cat flap. He is very food-motivated and benefits from puzzle feeders, slow feeders, and a good rotation of toys—especially feathery ones. With structure, patience, and the right outlets for his enthusiasm, Gary will make a loving, entertaining, and rewarding companion.

More details about Gary

To stop Gary wandering back to his old home, he cannot be rehomed in parts of Swindon. Gary has no road sense so will need to be rehomed away from any busy roads. Gary is currently on medication to help manage his excitement levels, and he will likely benefit from continuing these long term.
