Oreo’s world, reopened

When Oreo arrived with us in January, life was incredibly uncomfortable.

At just three and a half years old, she had already spent most of her life living with painful eye problems. Some days, her eyes were so sore they were completely glued shut. Despite this, she had even raised kittens of her own before coming into our care.

Our veterinary team quickly discovered severe entropion in both eyes, where her eyelids turned inward, causing her eyelashes to rub painfully against them. After treating infection and inflammation, Oreo underwent surgery on each eye, with a few setbacks along the way that made her journey a little longer than expected.

But it was worth the wait.

By March, Oreo’s eyes were bright, open, and finally comfortable. For the first time in a long time, she could properly see the world around her, and she’s been making the most of it ever since, especially from a cosy window spot, keeping a close eye on passing squirrels.

Oreo is a gentle, sweet-natured girl who enjoys affection on her own terms. She’ll softly nudge you when she’s ready for fuss, purring and chatting away, and just as happily takes herself off when she’s had enough. Alongside her calm nature, she has a playful side too, with bursts of zoomies and a particular love for feather toys.

She would thrive in a quiet home where she can feel safe, relaxed, and truly enjoy this new chapter.
