Thomas is a friendly, affectionate boy who is ready to find his forever home. Although he arrived as a stray, he has shown himself to be a loving and sociable companion who enjoys both human attention and the company of other dogs. He settles well in the home, enjoys his bed, and is happy to relax with simple enrichment. Thomas copes well with short periods of time alone and has shown calm, relaxed behaviours, so time alone can be built up gradually. Thomas may need some gentle guidance with house training as he continues to learn the routine of home life. He is generally reliable when toileting on lead, and while a garden would be beneficial to support this, it isn’t essential for an owner who is happy to put in some extra time and consistency. He loves fuss and affection, often leaning in and nudging for more, and is tolerant and relaxed with handling, including at the vets. While he can be briefly shy when meeting new people, he quickly relaxes and is soon enjoying attention. On walks, Thomas is generally pleasant on the lead, though he can become more excitable in open spaces and is keen to greet other dogs. He has a high prey drive and will benefit from ongoing training, particularly around focus and recall, with adopters mindful of his breed traits. Thomas is a sociable dog who greets other dogs politely, settles well in their company, and could live with another dog or enjoy visiting dog friends. With the right guidance and structure, Thomas will make a loyal, loving, and rewarding companion.
