Spots is a very sweet and independent boy with a unique story. Originally a street dog from Nepal, he’s used to free-roaming life and is now looking for a patient, understanding home to help him adapt to living indoors. He’s not used to a traditional home environment, so gentle introductions to everyday sights, sounds and routines will be important.
A secure garden is essential for Spots, giving him safe outdoor access as he transitions into home life. He enjoys being outside and is happiest when he has the freedom to explore and relax in a secure space. He loves going for walks and is friendly with people he meets along the way.
Spots has a playful side and will often entertain himself with toys. While he can be affectionate and enjoys a fuss, he’s equally independent and values having his own space. He’s currently undergoing name training and is learning to respond well to reward cues and high-value treats are key to keeping his focus.
Spots can be selective with other dogs and is best suited to a home as the only dog, though we would consider an experienced home with the right canine match. He could potentially have visiting or social dog friends in the future with sensible introductions.
Spots is a wonderful, loyal boy with so much potential in the right hands. If you're looking for a special companion and are ready to help a dog from a very different background, find his place in the world, Spots may be the one for you.
Keeping a dog mentally stimulated will prevent behaviour problems such as barking, being destructive or over-grooming. Let’s beat that boredom!
