Riley

Riley is a beautiful long-haired girl with a quiet charm and a sensitive nature. At just over a year old, she’s still learning to navigate the world and needs a calm, understanding home where she can truly come into her own. In the cattery, Riley has shown herself to be friendly and welcoming, often coming to say hello when familiar people arrive. However, in her previous home, she could be wary of new faces and loud noises, so a peaceful, low-traffic home will help her feel most secure. She’ll need a gentle introduction to her new surroundings — ideally starting with an enclosed room for the first 24 hours or more, until she’s confident enough to explore further with her new owner present. Riley is affectionate and enjoys human company, but everything must be on her terms. She’ll come to you when she’s ready and may even greet you at the door — but she’ll also let you know when she’s had enough attention by quietly walking away. She’s best suited to someone who understands feline body language and is happy to give her space when she asks for it. In her previous home, Riley occasionally swiped or nipped when she felt scared or overstimulated. While we haven’t seen this behaviour in the cattery, it’s important to respect her boundaries and allow her to build trust at her own pace. She has grown to enjoy being groomed, but again — short, positive sessions on her terms work best. Riley wasn’t a lap cat with everyone in her previous home, but with time and the right bond, she may choose to snuggle close.

More details about Riley

To stop Riley wandering back to her old home, she cannot be rehomed in parts of Bath. She also has no road sense so needs to be rehomed away from busy roads.
