New cat
How to set up your home to help your new cat settle in quickly
Cats, Adopters, Cat behaviour, Kitten
Cosmo is a very sweet, sensitive boy who is looking for a calm, loving new home where he can truly relax and shine. He may take a little time to settle into a new environment, but once he feels safe, he is an incredibly affectionate and loving companion. In his previous home, Cosmo was a friendly and cuddly cat who loved snuggles. He was comfortable being left during the workday and would happily come to greet his people when they returned home. Since arriving in the cattery, he has found the change quite worrying and was very still and quiet on arrival, slowly leaving his carrier to hide in his cosy fort. For the first few days, he preferred to stay tucked away in his fort or climber, watching the world from a safe distance. As he has settled, Cosmo’s true personality has begun to shine through. He is now very affectionate, pushing his face into your hand for fuss and purring loudly while being stroked. He still prefers a quieter environment and can become worried if there is too much going on, often choosing to nap in his climber, but he will always come out eagerly at mealtimes. Cosmo would be best suited to a quiet home where he can adjust at his own pace. He could cope in a busier household if given time, patience, and access to a quiet space where he can retreat when he needs to. He especially loves hidey beds and cosy spots where he can feel safe. With a little patience and understanding, Cosmo will reward his new family with lots of affection, gentle companionship, and plenty of purrs.
