Cookie is an excitable, busy little terrier with lots of personality and a strong desire to explore his surroundings. Once settled, he shows a much softer side and becomes affectionate, clearly enjoying attention such as fuss and bum scritches. Any time left alone will need to be introduced very gradually.
Cookie loves toys, which play an important role in helping him regulate his emotions. He particularly enjoys soft squeaky toys and will happily play tug or entertain himself by tossing toys into the air. So he would benefit from a toy box to call his own in his new home.
He’ll need a secure, well-fenced garden where he can stretch his legs and enjoy some safe off-lead time. In his foster home he’s shown he can jump up to around a metre high, so sturdy, higher fencing is a must. Typical of his breed Cookie has an interest in wildlife out and about on his walks and can be very alert to noises in his environment. Further socialisation and management around other dogs will also be needed to help him build confidence and positive associations.
Cookie will suit an experienced, understanding home that can provide structure, enrichment, and patient support to help him settle and thrive and become a loving and loyal companion.
