We aim to inspire young people to care, make a difference and support animals.
At Bath Cats & Dogs Home we feel that it is very important to reach young people in our community and offer education regarding the importance of responsible animal ownership. We have developed a session aimed at KS1 & early KS2 children which focuses on the 5 welfare needs, and understanding that animals have feelings too.
The session aims to:
The session can be tailored to support specific needs.
"Maple class were so grateful for your time and patience. We think you did an incredible job and I am so appreciative of how flexible you were during the lesson – thank you so much."
– St Martin's Primary Garden School
“The session was pitched well for the targeted age group of KS1 children. There was a variety of interactive activities to engage the children and the content was informative and well sequenced. It was especially effective to illustrate that the basic needs of an animal are the same as the basic needs of a human and enabled the children to think about appropriate conditions for pets.
Fiona answered the children's questions well and left resources for them to continue to develop their ideas and understanding, I would highly recommend these sessions to other settings.”
– Twerton Infants School & Nursery
