Event highlights

•    You’ll get a smart, branded bandana to wear on the walk. We know some of you are collecting them, we’ll reveal the colourway soon!
•    Wag Walk goodie bag including treats and toys. We fill these with donations from our generous sponsors, more to be revealed on our social media.
•    The event field will have an array of activity including a coffee van and refreshment tent where we would love for you to stop after the walk for a picnic and also browse the trade, craft and fundraising stalls.

The walks

2 mile walk. Discover one of our favourite walks for our rescues around Bushey Norwood. Starting with a short woodland snuffle, it opens out into a field of grass with very sniffable edges and then into the 19th century National Trust park. Take your time discovering copses of trees, look out for squirrels and there are opportunities for a drink and treats whilst sitting on a log. This is a flat walk but with uneven terrain, suitable for vaccinated puppies and old dogs who can still put a couple of miles in. Will take you approximately 40-60 minutes.

5 mile walk. Make sure your human is up for this challenge as it has steep hills and stiles. Skirting the edge of Bathampton Down you pass through some lovely fields to reach the folly Sham Castle - so have a good shake to look your best for photos! Heading across into Bathwick Meadow, your owner will love the view over the city and this could be a good picnic spot for the family. The only way is up Widcombe Hill – take it steady! Turning into Rainbow Woods there is another viewpoint and then a final stretch through Long Wood which is true to its name! This is a rescue dog favourite walk through here. This is a demanding route and is suitable for fit and healthy adult dogs who are used to long walks already. It will take you 2.5-3 hours with those much-needed breaks.

Both walks will have marshalls, signposts and we’ll give your owners a map, just in case your nose takes them the wrong way…
Return to the Home for a lie down and drink, and check out your Wag Walk goodie bag for treats and toys.
