Volunteers' Week 2023

Volunteers are at the heart of what we do!

1st-7th June is the annual Volunteers' Week, a chance to celebrate and inspire volunteers at all charities.

Here at Bath Cats and Dogs Home, the volunteer weekly commitment of 2 hours of time makes a considerable difference to the lives of the animals in our care.

Our friendly 130-strong volunteer team support us across all departments, from street collections and event support at our annual Wag Walk, to listing items on our eBay site and delivering stock to our 4 charity shops. Dog walkers and cattery care volunteers build strong bonds with the animals they visit each week, these relationships can be invaluable to the rehabilitation and rehoming journey.

Those volunteering in non-animal facing roles make an equally important contribution to their care. For example, sorting a bin bag of donations will raise an estimated £45 for the charity, which is the cost of keeping a dog safe, warm and fed for one day or two days for a cat.

Thank you to our existing volunteers for all your hard work and commitment, and to our future volunteers, we can’t wait to welcome you to Team BCDH!
