How to set up your home to help your new cat settle in quickly
Cats, Adopters, Cat behaviour, Kitten
Hazel and Lupin are a stunning bonded pair of Bengal cross cats looking for a very special home together. Due to their close bond, they must be rehomed as a pair. They are seeking a very cat-savvy household with proven experience of the Bengal breed, as they need owners who fully understand the demands, behaviour, and energy levels that come with these intelligent cats. Bengals are highly active and inquisitive, and Hazel and Lupin are used to having plenty of indoor space, climbing opportunities, and varied enrichment. This will need to continue in their new home. They are indoor-only cats due to their breed and must have access to a secure, cat-proof garden or a large secure catio so they can enjoy extra space to run, play, and exercise safely. They will thrive in a home where plenty of time is dedicated to them when people are around, with daily interaction, breed specific enrichment and structured play sessions to keep them mentally and physically fulfilled. Hazel is the more affectionate of the pair. In a home environment, she is a true lap cat who enjoys closeness and human companionship. She has been more cautious in a cattery setting, so her new family should expect her to need some time to settle before her affectionate nature fully returns. With patience and a calm environment, Hazel forms strong bonds and loves being near her people. Lupin is more independent and sensitive. She can be wary of new people and needs time and understanding to feel secure. While she is not always interested in human interaction, she is extremely playful and highly energetic. She especially enjoys feathery wand toys and previously loved using a cat wheel, which would be a wonderful addition in her new home. Both Hazel and Lupin are neutered and will need daily input into enrichment and play to keep them stimulated and content. They are not suitable for inexperienced or first-time cat owners, but in the right experienced Bengal home, they will be deeply rewarding companions. Hazel and Lupin are looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated household where their intelligence, energy, and individual personalities are truly understood and respected.
