Volunteers' Week 2025

Posted by Hayley Crymble | Volunteering

It is Volunteers’ Week! The annual nationwide event provides an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate the achievements of our amazing volunteers.

Here at Bath Cats & Dogs Home, we are lucky to have a team of over 185 volunteers, supporting all areas of the organisation from popular roles such as dog walking, cat cuddling and working in our charity shops, to behind-the-scenes skills-based roles such as admin for our Fundraising & Trading team, photography and video editing. Every single one of our volunteers plays an integral role in our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome cats and dogs in need.

On average, volunteers have given us a whopping 310 hours per week so far in 2025! We could not do our jobs without volunteers and are so grateful that they have chosen BCDH as the cause to which they so generously give their time.

Volunteering is a wonderful thing to do, whether you can give a couple of hours each week or can only attend an event or two throughout the year. Our volunteers are part of a millions-strong movement of people who give up their time each year to do ‘something good’. Why not take a look at the volunteering opportunities on our website and join the 14.2 million volunteers* in the UK? We’d love to have you!

Thank you to our volunteers, past, present and future, and Happy Volunteers’ Week!
