Meet Mandy - one of our fabulous shop volunteers

Our shop volunteers are vital to the smooth running of the store and donations, and Mandy has been a huge part of our team at our Moorland Road charity shop. It's fabulous to have her!

Please tell us a little bit about your life outside of BCDH.
I love reading, walking and spending time with my two grandsons. I work three days a week as a Care & Support Assistant.

How long have you been volunteering at BCDH?
I’ve been volunteering at the charity shop on Moorland Road for three years.

What do you do?
I work on the till, interacting with customers and sort any donated jewellery.

Why did you want to volunteer for BCDH?
My dad died suddenly, he had always supported Bath Cats & Dogs Home, and growing up we had many cats from the centre over the years. I started volunteering because I knew he would be proud of me.

What do you most enjoy about volunteering?
Chatting with the customers and working alongside Sam the shop manager.

What would you like to sayto anyone considering volunteering for BCDH?
Do it! I wish I had started years ago, it’s very rewarding.
