By applying for a charity place with Bath Cats and Dogs Home for the 2027 TCS London Marathon, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1.0 General
- By applying to run the TCS London Marathon on behalf of Bath Cats & Dogs Home you agree that we can contact you about your participation in the event via phone, text message, email, post or other forms of digital communication (e.g. Whatsapp).
- You are entering the event entirely at your own risk. Bath Cats & Dogs Home cannot accept any responsibility for your participation.
- You understand that the event is organised by a third party event organiser, London Marathon Events, and that they are solely responsible for the conduct and operation of the event, including all health and safety requirements.
- General conditions of entry set by TCS London Marathon
- You agree not to do anything that will reflect poorly on Bath Cats & Dogs Home while representing and fundraising for us.
- You understand that Bath Cats & Dogs Home reserves the right to change, amend or alter these Terms and Conditions at any time – you will be notified in this instance.
2.0 Your Participation
- You must be a minimum of 18 years of age on the date of the event to participate.
- You understand that we use a pre-determined selection process to allocate of spaces, including an application process. All decisions made are final.
- Once offered a charity place with Bath Cats & Dogs Home you must pay a non-refundable and non-transferable registration fee of £50.00 to secure your place within 2 weeks of being offered. Your place will not be secure until this is paid.
- If you are successful in your application for a charity place, Bath Cats & Dogs Home will share your details with TCS London Marathon to notify them that you are taking part in the event, and so that the event organisers can contact you to confirm your registration. It will be your responsibility to complete any further registration required by the event organisers.
- Bath Cats & Dogs Home retains full control over its London Marathon charity places and may withdraw your place at any time if necessary – you will be notified beforehand of this. This is not limited to but can include:

- Not reaching fundraising milestones
- Failing to respond to communications
- If we learn of unethical or unlawful fundraising practices. We will inform you prior to this, and try to rectify where possible.
- You are responsible for covering your own travel, accommodation, and catering expenses for the event. You acknowledge that Bath Cats & Dogs Home cannot contribute towards these costs. If your place is withdrawn, Bath Cats & Dogs Home is not liable for these additional costs.
3.0 Health, Safety & Fitness
- You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, your health level is good. You commit to seeking medical advice prior to the event if you deem it necessary.
- You take full responsibility for making the event organisers aware of any medical conditions that may affect your taking part in the event. This is so that they will be able to best assist you if needed.
- You confirm that you will not hold Bath Cats & Dogs Home accountable for any accident, injury or illness as a result of your participation in the event.
- You agree to take full responsibility for your training.
- You agree to follow all safety instructions provided by the event organisers when taking part.
4.0 Fundraising
- All funds raised through this event will be made payable to Bath Cats & Dogs Home.
- By accepting a Bath Cats & Dogs Home charity place you agree to raise a minimum of £2,000 (excluding Gift Aid) and adhere to the fundraising milestones to help you reach this target.
- Your non refundable registration fee will not contribute to your minimum fundraising target.
- If you are not fundraising in the UK you agree to meet the equivalent of the total target in the value of Pounds Sterline (£).
- You agree to the following fundraising milestones:
- £500 by September 30th (25%),
- £1,000 by January 1st (50%),
- £1,500 by March 31stth (75%).
- £2000 by May 31st (6 weeks post-race)
- All remaining sponsorship must be paid to Bath Cats & Dogs Home no later than 31st May 2028. If you haven’t met the total target you will need to cover the remaining total.
- Missing a fundraising milestone may result in losing your place. We will contact you to discuss this prior.
- Bath Cats & Dogs Home will regularly monitor your fundraising progress. We may decide to withdraw your place if we determine that you are not committed to raising the full sponsorship target amount. Our fundraising team are on hand to help reduce the risk of this.
- You understand that Gift Aid total is not included in your minimum sponsorship.
- Match funding will be included in your total sponsorship amount. Bath Cats & Dogs Home are happy to support you in approaching your employer as needed.
- Any cash donations can be paid to Bath Cats & Dogs Home via bank transfer (BACS) or via your online fundraising page.
- Donations made will be unrestricted so that Bath Cats & Dogs Home can direct your fundraising where the needs are greatest. Please contact the team if you have any further questions.
- You agree to only use legal and ethical methods to fundraising, and will comply with any guidance or advice from Bath Cats & Dogs Home.
- You agree to only use the ‘in aid of Bath Cats & Dogs Home’ logo, and will not use the logo in any way deemed inappropriate.
- You will make it clear to your supporters that any donations are made as a non-refundable payment.
5.0 Deferral & Withdrawal
- Any charity place deferrals are at the discretion of Bath Cats & Dogs Home.
- If you wish to withdraw from the event you must notify Bath Cats & Dogs Home as soon as possible on 01225 787335 or fundraising@bcdh.org.uk.
- If your request to defer is approved, your minimum fundraising target amount will be updated to the event you are entering, including any increase.
- Any money you have already raised will be carried over to your new fundraising goal.
- If you cross the start line at the event, but do not finish the event, you still need to raise the minimum sponsorship total.
- If you drop out or withdraw you are not able to allocate your place to someone else, the place will return to Bath Cats & Dogs Home.
- If you wish to cancel your place in the 2027 TCS London Marathon, at any time, your £50 registration fee will not be refunded.
- You maybe asked to pay the cost of the charity place of £400
- If you cancel your place, the funds you have already raised will be non-refundable and will be treated as a donation to Bath Cats & Dogs Home.
6.0 Bath Cats & Dogs Home’s Promise to You
- We will regularly communicate with you as part of the event, and ensure we pass on any event updates from the organisers.
- We will be on hand with expert fundraising advice and support where needed.
- We will endeavour to help you reach your fundraising milestones, providing ideas, resources and support.
- We will take any feedback seriously, including complaints and improvement areas.
- We will say thank you for your support and efforts.
- We will invite you to the Home to see first hand what we do and what difference you’ll be making to our cats and dogs.
- As part of the Bath Cats & Dogs Home team, you will received a branded running vest for the day.
