Oscar is a super lad that hasn’t had the best start in life. He came to us in poor condition but has come a long way during his stay here. He will need patient, understanding owners as he has very poor vision and so can be apprehensive of new people and situations. He will need to be slowly introduced to any changes or novel objects, as he can become very worried by things that he doesn’t understand.

Despite his past, Oscar is a happy boy that loves to play. His favourite game is tug although he can be vocal in play. He has shown some signs of guarding here with his food and some toys so his new owners should be aware to give him plenty of space when he needs it.

Oscar is unsure of other dogs. He will need walks in quiet areas, where space can be created if necessary to keep his stress levels to a minimum. With continued careful socialisation with calm, stable dogs, he has lots of potential to improve, but he is likely to always be worried by dogs that approach him quickly or unexpectedly.

In the right home, Oscar will be a fantastic companion. He can live with teenagers and needs to be the only pet in the home. His new owners will need to be confident in administering medication as he will need to have daily eye drops for the rest of his life. Our rehoming team would be happy to discuss this in more detail with any potential adopters.
