The role

Tidying and caring for sensory gardens and containers in the Home. This involves watering, seasonal planting, tidying, trimming back.

We could offer this as a job share if that suits better.

About you

Able to commit regularly but with flexibility, depending on the season. In the spring/summer this may be up to 2/3 times a week as new plants go in, going down to once a week in autumn/winter.

Knowledge of plant care and maintenance.

Fit - our site is quite big, and although there are water supplies in many places you will need to move earth/plants about when doing the planting. Many planters are on the floor so there is a lot of bending and kneeling as well.

Sympathetic to how a garden is important to cat and dog health. The plants are there for the animals to enjoy so it requires an ability to let go when something is dug up!

Flexible and considerate when working with the Animal Carers, who are on a busy schedule to get their dogs exercised in paddocks.

Although you won’t be in contact with animals, there will be dogs moving about in some areas who can be reactive to strangers, so you need to be calm to cope with this.
