WAG WALK IS POSTPONED

We are postponing Wag Walk until further notice, hopefully looking at a nice autumnal weekend for us all. Stay safe!

Calling all dogs, big and small... it's time to grab your lead and help pets in need!

We invite you and your doggie friends to take part in Bath's biggest dog walk of the year, the Wag Walk. Join us for a wooftastic walk across the beautiful Bath countryside, starting and finishing at Bath Cats & Dogs Home, on Sunday 17th May.

You'll meet lots of new doggie friends on the way round, you'll receive a Wag Walk tote bag filled with goodies once you've finished the walk, and best of all you'll be helping rescue dogs needing care at Bath Cats & Dogs Home.

The details

  • Wag Walk starts and finishes at Bath Cats & Dogs Home on our Event Field, access from Claverton Down Road. Click here for map and directions. Sign in is from 8.45am, the walk starts at 9.30am with staggered groups starts every 5 minutes for safety.

  • There are two routes to choose from -  a 2 mile flat route for young or old paws, or the 5 mile route for a bigger challenge.

  • The walk will be led by our event marshalls, is fully signposted and all walkers will also receive a map.

Cost

  • Cost is £15 for your dog plus a small online processing fee. Human companions go for free, but there is a fundraising target to take part (see the Fundraising section below). If you are entering more than one dog then it is £15 for the first dog, and £5 thereafter for each dog taking part.

  • Humans are welcome to sign up without a dog – there will just be a small £5 fee to cover the cost of resources for the Wag Walk.

Fundraising

  • The entry fee covers the cost of administration and resources for the Wag Walk. To help rescue dogs even more, there is a sponsorship target of £50 to raise for each owner that takes part in the Wag Walk, which you should aim to have raised at least 1 week prior to the event. Every pound raised will make a huge difference to helping us look after an unwanted, abused or neglected dog in 2020.

The dog that raises the most sponsorship money will receive a hamper full of delicious treats and toys!

  • After sign up, we’ll send you and your dog your own personalised sponsor form to take round to your friends and family - every pound raised will make a real difference to a rescue dog's life.

  • Sponsorship will pay for essential items during a dog's stay with us - like nutritious food, warm cosy bedding, toys for playtime and expert care from our team of trained and compassionate animal carers, vets and behaviour experts.

  • Alternatively, you can make a £50 donation - use the link on Eventbrite or ask our team how best to make the payment.

Further info

  • The Wag Walk is a family friendly event and there may be over 250 dogs taking part, so please consider whether the event is right for your dog when signing up.

  • There will be free car parking on our event field, overflow parking at the University of Bath. Toilets on site.

  • There will be stalls selling refreshments and pet products and there is plenty of space for you to bring and enjoy your own picnic after the walk.

  • All walkers must register in advance for the event, and no entries can be accepted on the day.

  • Our event photographers will be taking pictures during the day. Digital copies will be available to buy after the event with 100% of proceeds to Bath Cats & Dogs Home. Click the image below to see some photos from Wag Walk 2019.
