UPDATE: Look at a photo blog from one of our volunteers - all about Ollie!

Ollie is a fantastic dog, friendly, affectionate and nice natured. He is initially shy and a bit wary with strangers but not for more than a minute or two and then he will want to be stroked for as long as you will stroke him.

He is very obedient lad who whilst at the Home for example has learnt only after being told once or twice not to chase squirrels anymore!

Ollie is a very calm dog except when you get out his toys where he absolutely loves to retrieve squeaky toys, balls, frisby, you name the toy and he will keep going with his tail in the air until he gets tired, where he will then want to lie down and chew his toys.

He is fine to be left for short periods, curling up in his chair until you return and is not destructive.

He has not been socialised very much with dogs or cats and is seeking a quiet home with an active owner as an only pet. He needs an adult only household. Ollie really deserves a chance of a home life again as all he wants to do is please you. He does not show himself off well in his kennel when strangers approach as he is frightened and stressed by kennel life but if you come and meet him out of his kennel you will see straight away his gentle nature.

Ollie arrived with his brother, who has since been homed, but poor Ollie is still here waiting for that special home where he can enjoy his freedom. Please don’t pass him by but ask to meet him; you will not be disappointed, as he really is a super dog that just wants a home of his own although he will be sadly missed by us all.
