24/01/2012 - Here comes the kittens
The odd weather has fooled a few cats to get frisky early and we are seeing kittens already - can you help this spring when we need it the most?

Every spring we get newborn kittens and pregnant mums handed in as owners are unable to cope with extra mouths to feed and the vet bills they bring.
What can you do to help?
Don't litter!
Getting your cat neutered or speyed is the only way to stop the thousands of unwanted cats born each year in the UK. If we - just one rescue home - are handling 300 kittens in a season then imagine the numbers nationwide.
A helping hand
If you have a spare room and are at home most of the time then you could become a fosterer. Looking after a mum and kittens for 7-8 weeks, you will provide a real home environment making a mum feel secure and let the kittens gain experience of household noises. We will provide food and accessories - you just need to give the time and love. Please think seriously as it can be hard to hand them back after 7 weeks - but the joy of knowing you made a difference is worth it! We are collecting details now, the main fostering period will be from May to October - frisky cats depending!
