Dog walking times and procedure

Please note that there is no dog walking on Sunday 12 June as the road to the Home is closed for a Race for Life run. Entrance and parking will be in the rear fields - entrance from the main road.

UPDATE: WE CURRENTLY HAVE A FULL QUOTA OF DOG WALKERS. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEBSITE FOR OUR NEXT WAVE OF RECRUITMENT.

With over 120 dogs on site, our volunteer dog walkers help us exercise all of our dogs every day. It is a rewarding role, where you will be making a valuable contribution to the rehabilitation and welfare of our dogs. There are plenty of green spaces around the Home to walk.

We would prefer a commitment of walking at least twice a month. You can choose the same dogs or find a new one each time. When you speak to the animal carer, you can ask for a dog suitable for you depending on your handling experience and time available that day.

All walkers will need to have official Bath Cats and Dogs Home photo ID and have attended a 30 minute induction.

General Rules

All dogs must be kept on a lead. If they are muzzled please do not remove it.

We advise that you do not wear flip flops or high heels and your legs should be covered.

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 5 will no longer be able to accompany adults on dog walks.

Dog walking times are:

Monday 12 noon – 3.30pm
Tuesday to Friday 11am – 3.30pm
Saturday and Sunday 11am – 12.30pm
