yogi on stairsyogi on mat137

We have had great news of   a dog that was with us for quite a while.

It would seem the long wait was worth it as Yogi has clearly found his forever home.

His new family tell us-

‘Just thought I would update you on our new additions progress
Originally known to you as ‘Dime’ a lovely staffie cross’, I think was cared for at the dogs home by Jason.
Well we have now named him Yogi, and he has been with us now for 6 weeks.
He came with a great list of potential problems as listed:
Escape artist
Not housed trained
Barks all night
I am pleased to report that Yogi has not  had or done any of the above. He enjoys his twice  1 hour long walks
per day with his Dad – and his recall has come on fantastically – so much so he has been off lead now for 3 weeks!
Generally he is very obedient and a fast leaner (anything for a chicken treat!)
He enjoys the run of our house and has a special sofa in the conservatory which we find him snoozing on in the day. He sleeps on his bed next to his Dad – and can he SNORE! (so Mum has to put up with two lots of snorers)
His main job is to wake the children for school which enjoys doing as this entails jumping on their beds and receiving lots of cuddles!
Yogi  has also had a little trip to Dorset for a family holiday which he enjoyed – however  I think we need to work on
his introduction to water – the sea was a No No! but  I’m sure over time he will adapt. He has yet to experience the family motor boat!

All in all we are thoroughly enjoying having Yogi as a member of our family.  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to adopt Yogi, he is a credit to the care he received from you all as he spent along time with you (since Dec2009), but his health and condition remains perfect.

Yogi sends his love especially  to Jason who looked after him so well whilst he was at the Home.
Best wishes The Hughes Family

Thank you  the Hughes family-a great example of how a dog can change when given a loving family and happy home environment-Yogi is a lucky boy!

Elvis has left the building!!

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

Elvis-so named because of the Elvis style lip curl has found a loving home, with plenty of friends from BCDH.

His new owner says-

Dear All,
Thank you once again, for another most wonderful boy! He has settled in brilliantly, and just by a happycoincidence, all my BCDH cats are in this photograph – Mickey on the left, Dot on the surface, Florence
[ who has been here the longest now, and who came here in 1999] on the stool, and of course lovely
Elvis on the right.
When I woke up this morning, I found that I was sandwiched between Elvis and Mickey – what could be better?
I was a little concerned about Elvis yesterday, and decided to get him seen as soon as possible. The vet gave him a thorough examination, and gave him a Convenia injection, which I’m pleased to say has made a great
difference, and all is hunkydory at the moment.
I will never be able to thank you enough for entrusting these precious cats to my care, and I admire all you do more than I can possibly say. You are a great bunch of people, doing a hellishly tough job, and it has been a
privilege to meet so many of you in recent months.
    With very best wishes,

And now a word from Elvis himself-

Dear All,
Just wanted to let you know that I am enjoying being in my new home and to thank you so much for all you have done for me this year.

 With love-Elvis.
